Miami's Ransom Everglades Named Among World's Top 100 Schools

A prestigious global ranking has placed Coconut Grove's Ransom Everglades School among the top 100 schools worldwide, highlighting its academic excellence and unique cultural environment.

In Miami, discussions about high schools can often reveal much about a person’s background and social circles. While I grew up in Broward and usually stay out of these conversations, I’ve learned that Ransom Everglades is a name that commands respect. This elite private school now has official recognition to back up its reputation.

According to the latest rankings from Spear’s, a European magazine that caters to ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, Ransom Everglades has been named one of the top 100 schools globally in the 2024 Schools Index. This annual ranking evaluates schools based on academic performance, as well as social and cultural factors, through a combination of data analysis, online surveys, and interviews. Since its inception in 2020, the index has become a benchmark for identifying the best educational institutions worldwide.

Out of 19 North American schools that made the cut, Ransom Everglades is the only one from Florida to earn a spot in the prestigious “Top Flight” category, reserved for the world’s leading private schools.

Spears magazine praised Ransom Everglades for cultivating students who excel not only academically but also morally. “The school strives to develop students who pride themselves on their academic rigor alongside their morals,” the review states. “Its carefully curated curriculum is reflective of this; students are taught to be independent thinkers, capable of collaborating with others but confident enough to defend their own ideas.”

At $51,960 per year, Ransom Everglades’ tuition is more affordable than some other top-tier schools in North America, such as Manhattan’s Collegiate School, which charges $63,400 annually. For this investment, Ransom Everglades students can aim to achieve average SAT scores of 705 in reading and writing, and 703 in math.
